Distraí-me...
Apercebi-me que estava distraído,
questionei-me se procurava distracção.

Destruí-me...
E na distracção reconstruí-me,
sem ter a certeza da nova construção.

Distraí-me porque estava destroçado
e não me apercebi que assim fugia
a uma acção...

Se me tivesse apercebido,
chamar-se-ia a isso distraído?

Traí-me ao deixar-me
ser distraído, construindo,
cobrindo, suavizando a destruição,
sobre a qual deveria erguer-se a força
e não a forca da distracção.

Não a este sorriso ténue,
mais que ingénuo, de desagonia,
que certo é ter a matemática função
de restaurar o equilíbrio natural
que alivia...

Não quero ser natural então,
quero ser homem contra-natura
e nessa procura, nessa atitude,
fazer algo mais do que cantar
sem música...

Quero agir e não ser ágil,
porque este forte sentir
é fútil,
e vai-se distrair;
é fácil e esvai-se...

E nessa acção adequada
(tenho medo do erro),
não vou chorar:
Eis o meu berro!
(Eis o meu medo...)
Eis o meu berro novamente!

Universal baptism of the self

June 27th, 2005

In this day and age, June being a month like any other, with the peculiarity of having borrowed the name from the Roman goddess, borrowed from the Greeks' Hera, and being wife of Jupiter, mother of Mars, the god of war, and Vulcan, the celestial artist, which makes it now completely meaningful, twenty seven being my lucky number that never brought me any luck thus far, two thousand and five being a year as good as any other, five years after the end of the world, as we all know, the universe revolved and decided to baptize me Alma-Grande or, for those unfortunate people who never spoke this beautiful language, more beautiful than any other most beautiful mother language of the world, Big-Soul... Feel free to disagree as I feel free to disagree with anything you might disagree with, for what does it matter? What does it matter? What does it matter? Leave me so that I can live me.

Ah... this normal madness...

Nomading a bit more

Leave me, leave me,

Like a season,

Only to return again!

Leave me dry as a river

Which just ran dry,

And rain on it — me!

Leave me or let me go,

Now as any simile

That ends in a circle!

……………………………

Stop there, stop there!

Go no further!

Don’t be long or late!

……………………………

If you don’t come back

I’m afraid there

Will be no homecoming,

And a perfect ring

Will be broken,

As any perfect broken ring,

Any unrepeatable season,

Any ever-dried river,

Or any ceaseless comma,

Nós, Cegos.

Está nesse canto, vejo-a. Fumando o cigarro
como a vida se esfuma.
Sentada, solene,

Dirijo-me a si, mulher perfeita, logo sem membros,

Do óbvio.

que é no toque que lhe dou que ele existe;

E bêbado sozinho é igual a morto.

Só me afogo.
No superficial.

me poda.

tanto quanto gosto do penso.

Mas não me leve a mal.

E que lhe sobre saúde e senso

para não me aplicar uma pena capital.

Gosto do erro no julgamento rápido

Gosto tanto, tanto,

tanto quanto gosto.

E desgosto.

O Frutar da Aurora

Amadurece...

Hoje sou verde,

Verde como um simples verme;

Elaborado.

Verde por dentro,

Assim daquele verde puro,

Sobrevivido...

Verde por tudo,

Verde por ser seiva sempre ou

Ser desfolhado!

Que verdecer é

Ser este ser conjuntamente

Atrapalhado!

Verde é ceder

Esta tarde, porque é tarde,

Pela verdade...

E, no amanhã,

Trocar este verde imenso

Por um intenso

Avermelhado.

A movement of soul

And begin to swirl round and round,

A spiralling up of what’s inside,

Growing, growing with increasing speed,

Rising, rising from the ground,

And dancing, dear, dancing, dear,

With this speed, this swoon into the air,

The spirit lifting up and up,

Our mind entrapped outside our sphere,

The senses absorbing each contiguous form,

A madman’s canvas of every colour,

A native dance, the growing sound of silence;

It is for this madness that we mourn!

… And then…

… High up…

… Where the shoreline is by tender waves massaged…

… Slowly…

Untangling movement;

Slow descent;

A laugh reversed,

Converting into a smile…

Oh! Going up again!

… No… it was a fading trick;

The spasm of a joke,

Before the careful folding in movement of landing resumes

And pack us back in our brief while.

On natural imperatives

This thought invaded me, and haunts me from time to time, when I am not thinking, or simply when I am running under the illusion that I am not thinking -- for it wouldn't be a thought if I was not thinking in the first place -- and to let it out became an imperative, and I always bow to imperatives, just as I never bow to imperators, and as such let me bow once more:

I am using a language to think. This language has codes that are foreign to nature itself. I am using such codes to think. When I use those codes and verbalize them, their sound seems foreign to me. Something else is being said that I did not want to say; yet I did, because I used those codes to think and to speak. Whatever was left unsaid -- for the codes to think and the codes to speak could not spill it out -- the codes to think think it is my soul. Yet it is no soul. Nor do I have a soul. It is my brain that, while using the codes to think, could not find the right code to give it to the codes to speak to say it all, for even in the transition between the natural codes and the codes to think something was already amiss. And all that is left undeciphered my codes to think think it is my soul. My codes to think shifted, of course, as I think now I have no soul. Either that or my codes to think are being misused. But the natural codes are sending affirmative messages in a code that the codes to think can understand. And this imperative is the latter’s translation.

So I turned to music for a better decoding of the natural codes. But music has its own codes as well. The result of music is another translation. Then I turned to drawing for a better decoding. But the natural codes are being translated by other codes as well, besides the limits that are being imposed by my nervous impulses to the tip of my fingers. So I turned back to the codes to think reaction to the affirmativeness of the natural codes, and here I stand. Souless, as the soul is just my untranslatable natural code.

Later today, my codes to think shivered while watching my dog’s natural codes telling him yet again to crap on an isolated plant growing in between the sidewalk’s cobblestones. He was acting as a natural fertilizer. Do you mind if I do the same? Oh, do not tell me there are even more codes, now social ones, social leashes, to prevent me for doing what is natural and useful…
